With J.J. Hardy headed to the DL with a groin injury, the Orioles have called up Paul Janish from AAA Norfolk. They told him yesterday at lunch time, so he's already with Baltimore. He'll be starting at SS tonight and batting ninth. He's been given number 15.
It sounds like he'll start only against lefties. Lefty Ryan Flaherty will start against righties.
Showalter really likes Janish, though. Apparently, they are hoping to keep him in the organization beyond this season.
