Gotta love a guy who wears his pants high. Especially teams like the Reds, who are named for their sock color. They're the Redlegs, they should show their red socks.
And speaking of the Red Sox...they signed Bartolo Colon. To a minor league deal with no guaranteed money. Seems like a desperation move. On Colon's part. As deep in pitching as the Sox are, will Colon ever get out of Pawtucket?
It really is a bad year for free agents. Josh Fogg turned down a $5 million offer from the Rockies...and ended up signing for $1.5 million with the Reds. Seems like a lot of players misjudged the market this year.
And there are a lot of players who are still looking for work. Kyle Lohse, Reggie Sanders, Sammy Sosa, Barry Bonds, Corey Patterson, Kenny Lofton, Shawn Green, Akinori Otsuka, Jeff Weaver. Okay, they're not exactly hall of famers (or are hall of famers past their sell-by dates), but it seems like in other years, someone would have signed them by now.
