Cardboard Crosby: San Bernardino 2000




Here's another of Bubba's baseball cards. It's from his stint with the San Bernardino Stampede. Though the date says 2000, the card is probably from 1999, when he played a full season and hit .296 AVG / .376 OBP / .377 SLG / .753 OPS.

In 2000, Bubba spent most of the season with the Vero Beach Dodgers. He played only three games with the Stampede that year. According to his blog, he was sent to San Bernardino at the end of the season to rehab a hamstring injury. They wanted him there because San Bernardino had a good chance of making the postseason, giving him more time to play. He was also supposed to play in the Arizona Fall League that year if he was healthy enough; I don't know if he actually did.
