Bats 1, Yankees 0

Went to Scranton tonight. Left right after work, got home after midnight. Might go to tomorrow's game too, so I don't really have time to blog it in detail now. I will later. For now, here's a photo of Andy Phillips at 1B.

He's reclaimed his #12.

There weren't many fans in the stands, but those who were there remembered Andy. They cheered him and called his name when he came to bat.

I was wondering what they were going to do about the injuries. Posada and Jeter. Both players they won't want to DL if at all possible. And both key positions that you do not want to be shorthanded at (catcher and infielder - especially SS).

If Bubba were still with the Yankees, this would be a situation where he'd be sent down. (And he often was.) The Yankees aren't carrying a fifth outfielder now, though. They've got extra first basemen, so one of them had to go. Pete Abe thought it would be Ensberg (fake injury), but they optioned Shelley Duncan instead.

Maybe I'll get to see him play. I'm going to Scranton again tomorrow night.
