Janish flashes the leather

One day after Janish had that nice game (3 for 5, 2 doubles), the Braves activated him off the DL and optioned him to AAA.

Braves activated INF Paul Janish from the 15-day disabled list; optioned him to Triple-A Gwinnett.

Janish, who had offseason shoulder surgery, was hitting .256 (10-for-39) with two doubles and two RBI during his rehab assignment. He'll continue to get regular playing time in the minors for now, but the Braves figure to call him up at some point.

This was expected, with Ramiro Pena being out of options.

I did go down to Scranton for the Gwinnett Braves games. Janish had some nice plays on defense, but was hitless in the series.

He sat out Sunday's game. It was a day game after a night game, so that wasn't surprising. However, he also got Tuesday off. He's back in the lineup today, though. Gwinnett announcer Tony Schiavone said tonight that Janish and Sean Kazmar are sharing the SS job. Kazmar is not a prospect and is not hitting particularly well, so if they are sharing the job I guess it's to keep Janish rested.
