All Things Bubba

I always find this time of year a little sad. Fall is my favorite season, but afterwards comes winter. The most exciting baseball of the year is played in the fall, but the long Hot Stove season looms after that. Sometimes, I can understand why Hunter S. Thompson killed himself when football season was over. (Indeed, he left a suicide note entitled "Football Season Is Over," that complained about there being "No more games.")

This has been a week for goodbyes. There was Steve Irwin's shocking and tragic death. Andre Agassi playing his last match, sobbing as he said goodbye to his fans. And of course, the end of Bubba's career as a Yankee.
