At least for now. The last roster move was made today, and Bubba is still on the 25-man roster. Rookie relief pitcher T.J. Beam was sent down to Columbus, leaving us with 11 pitchers. (Which should be enough, at least if Lidle can go more than five innings.)
Cano, Dotel, and Matsui may all be joining the team this month, which means more roster moves. But I'm a little more optimistic that Bubba will stick around until rosters expand. It's only a month now. Green will probably be sent down when Cano joins the team. If Dotel gets off the DL before September 1, maybe they'll DFA Ponson. And Matsui is probably a longshot to rejoin the team before September.
Still...Bubba will sure help his case if he plays well these last few weeks. I've got my fingers crossed for him.
